The fitting described passes through the containment shell in a tight manner and comprises two coaxial pieces one inside the other, the outer piece beIng screwed into the containment wall and forming one of the electrodes of the fitting, the inner piece forming the second electrode. This inner piece is held at a distance and insulated from the outer piece by a pile of mica washers threaded on the inner ptece and subjected to a compression between (i) shoulders provided on the two elements in the annular interspace between them and (ii) two further coaxial tubes situated in the said annular interspace and pressed indtvtdually against the pile by members screwed respectively in the extremity of the outer element and on the extremity of the inner element/su This compression causes a radial expansion of the mica washers and results tn pressure of their cylindrical faces against the surfaces of the elements and hence in the tightness.(NPO)
