POLARIZATION OF PROTONS ELASTICALLY AND INELASTICALLY SCATTERED FROM CARBON NEAR 17 AND 19 MEV

Journal Article · · Nuclear Phys.
The angular dependence of tbe polarization of protons elastically and inelastically scattered by carbon was meas ured near 17 and 19 Mev. The data at 17 Mev show similarity to published data at 14, 16, and 17.7 Mev. At 19 Mev, however, the polarization is markedly lower, an anomaly also found in this energy range by an optical model analysis of elastic scattering by carbon.
