>The intensity variations of the nucleonic component of cosmic radiation during the magnetic storm on November 12, 1960, are analyzed and it is shown that superimposed upon a world-wide reduction of threshold rigidities there were also anisotropic effects, persisting for several hours, which particularly influenced particles arriving over Europe. It is suggested that this was due to the pulling out of the geomagnetic field lines on the night side of the earth by solar plasma.
