THE INFLUENCE OF FINITE CONDUCTIVITY ON THE EQUILIBRIUM OF A SLIGHTLY CURVED PLASMA COLUMN (in Russian)

Studies were made of a stable, finite-conductance plasma cylinder with a curved axial line. Slightly twisted and helical plasma pinches are investigated, In the latter case the longitudinal current, having pressure equal to the plasma, is not able to force the plasma from the walls and the cross section pressure remains stable. An experiment with incompressible fluid for analyzing the disturbance of mass flux distributions inside the pinch is described. (tr-auth)
