The corrosion properties of ternary zirconium alloys in 650 deg F water for a duration of 2040 hr were determined. A trend evident in the resuIts was that the addition of chromium and tellurium was beneficial to corrosion resistance. All the ternary compositions tested exhibited better corrosion resistance than the binary Zr-0.5 Nb alloy. Attempts to produce electron-beam refined materials with a precipitate-free microstructure were unsuccessful. This electron-beam melted material had slightly less corrosion resistance than sponge or iodide zirconium in 680 deg F water for 336 hr. (M.C.G.)
