Approximately 20 ternary Zr-- Ti--Mo alloys were prepared by arc-melting buttons of the pure metals in a watercooled cooper hearth using a non-consumable electrode. Phase identification by x-ray diffraction was possible for the Ta--W-- Zr alloy. Initial alloys were prepared in the binary Mo--Ir and Nb-- Ru systems. Experimental work on the Ta--Rh and Ta--Ir systems was finished. The work on the constituent binary system Re -- Hf was completed, and the extent of the phases was determined. (M.C.G.)
