Investigation of circuit flipflops of the Schmidt Trigger and the Eccles- Jordan type was initiated. In mathematical methods, a procedure for estimating the partition function of a quantum mechanical system is described. Activities in data reduction research were devoted to a highresolution CRT scope system, programming, and computer components. Details of Illiac and IBM 650 use and operation are included. Other information is included concerning instructional use of computers, and administrative functions. (J.R.D.)
