INVARIANT FORMULATION OF THE GRAVITATIONAL WAVE FIELD THEORY (in Russian)

Einstein's theory of gravitation is formulated in such a way that the main quantity which emerges is the gravitational field strength 4-tensor F/sub iklm/ which is linearly connected with the Riemarn curvature tensor R/sub iklm/ and vanishes in Euclidean space. The gravitation equations which can be employed to compute F/sub iklm/ as well as g/sub ik/ for given sources formally coincide with the Bianchi identities. The main advantage of the new formulation is that it permits an invariant theory of weak gravitational waves to be set up. (auth)
