DISTRIBUTION AND EXCRETION OF RADIOCESIUM IN GOATS, PIGS AND HENS

Journal Article · · Acta Veterinaria Scandinavica (Denmark)
OSTI ID:4789870
The pattern of distribution in tissues and excretion of Cs/sup 134/ was studied in goats, pigs, and hens. The influence of KAPPA on the metabolism of Cs/sup 134/ was studied by stable v KAPPA determinations and by double tracer tests with KAPPA /sup 42/ Cs/sup 134/. The results led to the conclusion that the cellular uptake of Cs differs from that of KAPPA , Cs being more readily accumulated in all tissues except blood cells and brain. The significance of Cs/ sup 134/ as a fission product incorporated in the food chain is discussed. (85 references.) (C.H.)
