STUDIES ON THE APPLICATION OF X-RAY AS A LETHAL MECHANISM OR DECOY DISCRIMINATION TECHNIQUE. VOLUME 2: STUDIES ON THE DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF SHELL STRUCTURES AND MATERIALS TO A PRESSURE PULSE
The application of x radiation as a lethal mechanism or decoy discrimination technique is studied theoretically. Studies of the dynamic response of shell structures and materials to a pressure pulse are described. Subjects such as dynamic buckling criterion of shallow shells under uniform impulsive loading, modal analysis of axisyrnmetric buckling of clamped, shallow, spherical shells, dynamic membrane stresses in a circular elastic shell, dynamic collapse of a rigid-plastic ring under a distributed tmpulsive load, comparison of rigid-plastic-ring results with experiments, plastic collapse of ring with rigid outer layer, shock wave progagation in solid and compactible media, and large elastic deformations of dynamicalty loaded rings are examined.
