NAK PRESSURE DROP CALCULATIONS FOR THE PRATT & WHITNEY FORCED CONVECTION LIQUID METAL INPILE LOOP, PW-19 INCORPORATING THE MARK II CERAMIC TEST SPECIMEN

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4786690
Theoretical calculations are presented concerning pressure losses caused by configuration and geometry in the Pratt and Whitney forced convection liquid metal in-pile loop. Also included is an analysis of the theoretical pressure drop across the Mk. II 3-tier 54-pin ceramic fuel element test specimen. NaK temperatures in the experiment vary from 1500 to 1600 deg F at design conditions. (J.R.D.)
