CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE REDUCTION AND OXIDATION OF THE OXIDES OF URANIUM (in French)

Journal Article · · Energie nucleaire
OSTI ID:4784856
Within the general ltmits of a study of the different uranium oxides it was possible, by thermoponderal analysis and differential thermal analysis together with x-ray difiraction and specific surface determination, to characterize the various stages in the reduction or reoxidization of uranium oxides (or ammonium uranate). Two ranges of stoichtometric variations were distingunished: UO/sub 2/ to to U/sub 3/O/sub 7/ through U/sub 4/O/sub 9/, and U/ sub 2/O/sub 5/ to U/sub 3/O/sub 8/. The latter rangee is studied with more details as regards its analytical significance. A simple classification of uranium oxides is put forward. (auth)
