A VARIATIONAL PRINCIPLE FOR BRUECKNER THEORY

Journal Article · · Nuclear Phys.
Schwinger's variational principle for scattering problems is applied to boundstate problems. A new upperbound to the energy shift due to a nonpositive perturbation was obtained. A variational principle which yields Brueckner theory is presented and applied in a new derivation of Moszkowski and Kohler equations. The effect of second order variations is investigated. (auth)
