Sorption of Ce/sup 144/, Y/sup 91,/ Zn/supp 65/, Ru/sup 106/ Cs/sup 1345/ , Nb/sup 95/, and Zr/sup 95/ + Nb/sup 95/ from aqueous solutions by active manganese dioxide was studied. An ion exchange mechanism in Ce/sup 144/ and Y/ sup 95/ sorption is described. Ru/sup 106/ (pH = 4.0to 5.0), Nb/sup 95/ and Zr/ sup 95/ (pH = 2.0 to 9.0), Zn/sup 65/(pH = 6.0 to 7.0) are sorbed as radiocolloids while Cs/sup 134/ is not sorbed. (R.V.J.)
