THE MILNE PROBLEM FOR A NON-ABSORBING MEDIUM WITH LINEARLY ANISOTROPIC SCATTERING

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4781540
The Milne problem in a non-absorbing semi-infinite medium with linearly anisotropic scattering was solved by direct factorization of simultaneous integral equations. The resulting expression was simpler than that obtained by other methods and shows that anisotropic scattering does not affect the transient flux distribution but only the asymptotic flux distribution.
