IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO STEAM GENERATING PLANT

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4781424
A nuclear power plant is designed in which superheated steam from the reactor is used to evaporate the feed water. The plant comprises a reactor, a primary evaporator wherein feed water is evaporated by superheated steam on its way to the turbine, and a plurality of secondary evaporators wherein water is sprayed into superheated steam. The evaporators are connected with the reactor in a way so that steam generated in the primary evaporator is superheated in the reactor and passed through the secondary evaporators in succession, the steam leaving each secondary evaporator being superheated in the reactor before going to the next evaporator. The steam leaving the last evaporator is finally superheated and passed through a coil in the primary evaporator and on to the turbine. (D.L.C.)
