Title: QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION OF TANTALUM, TUNGSTEN, NIOBIUM, AND ZIRCONIUM IN HIGH TEMPERATURE ALLOYS BY X-RAY FLUORESCENT SOLUTION METHOD

Journal Article · · Analytical Chemistry (U.S.) Formerly Ind. Eng. Chem., Anal. Ed.
OSTI ID:4779866

Tantalum, tungsten, niobium, and zirconium can be determined satisfactorily by x-ray fluorescence analysis of liquid samples after chemical separation of the elements from high temperature alloy matrices. Using scattered radiation as an internal standard, interelement effects and instrumental variations are minimized. Relative standand deviations of about 2% are readily attainable. The method is applicable to any alloy from which the desired elements can be separated. (auth)
