EMISSION OF THE HEAVY PARTICLES IN THE INTERACTIONS AT ENERGIES GREATER THAN 10$sup 9$ ev

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4779733

PARTICLES IN THE INTERACTIONS AT ENERGIES The angular distribution and energy spectrum of heavy particles emitted in the interactions of 7 Bev/c pi / sup -/ with C-nuclei in propane bubble chamber were investigated. The forward- backward asymmetry of emitted protons increases witn increasing energy of these protons at 7 to 80 Mev. The results were compared with several emulsion experiments up to the highest cosmic ray energies. It was observed that the emission of heavy particles of energy higher than --20 Mev depends very little on the primary energy. The experi mental data are in qualitative agreement with the predictions of the cascade theory. (auth)
