TANK OF A SWIMMING POOL REACTOR

The tank of a swimming pool reactor consists of an outer container enclosing a metallic container separated by an interspace. This interspace is filled with a pulverulent material. The outer container and the pulverulent material form an entity of which the dimensions are sufficient to ensure a suitable biological shielding. Preferably the interspace is subdivided by horizontal and vertical dividing walls into a number of cells. This interspace also encloses tunnels for ducts and circuits which are shielded by the pulverulent material which may consist of crushed heavy aggregates or sand, while the outer container consists of concrete, metal, or wood.
