Chemical transformations in Sb/sup 125/ BETA decay were studied in phenyl and tolyl derivatives; Sb/sup 125/R/sub 3/ and Sb/sup 125/R/sub 3/Cl /sub 2/. The chemical changes are used for developing new methods for synthesizing phenyl and tolyl derivatives containing tellurium: Te(C/sub 6/H/sub 5/)/sub 2/, Te(C/sub 6/H/sub 5/)Cl/sub 2/, Te(C/sub 6/U /sub 5/)/sub 3/Cl, Te(ne(n - CH/sub 3/ C/sub 6/H/sub 4/)/sub 2/Cl/sub 2/, and Te(n - CH/sub 3C/sub 6/H/s ub 4/)/sub 3/Cl. A qualitative analysis is given of the molecular ion frag- mentation theory in BETA decay processes. (R.V.J.)
