THE ANALYTICAL APPLICATION OF FLUORICION. PART V. METHOD OF SEPARATING THORIUM FROM RARE EARTH ELEMENTS

Journal Article · · Rika Gaku Kenkyusho Hokoku
OSTI ID:4775838

Thorium was precipitated as oxinate after masking the rare earth elements with EDTA. The precipitate obtained method was filtered off, washed, and dissolved in hydrochloric acid, and the quantity of thorium was determined by direct titration with fluoric ion, keeping the solution at pH 2.4. Good results were obtained by applying the method to the analysis of monazite. (Sci. Papers Inst. Phys. Chem. Research, Tokyo, 56: June l962)
