A mass spectrometer for precise determination of the ratio of deuterium to hydrogen in hydrogen gas in the region of natural deuterium concentrations

The construction of a double beam mass spectrometer is described. A precision of 0.3 to 0.5% in the determination of the deuterium to hydrogen ratio was readily achieved by using a very high extraction voltage in the ion source. (auth)
