The preparation of ruthenium pentafluoride and oxytetrafluoride is described. The vapor pressures were measured by a static method, a diaphragm gage of high sensitivity being used. The physical constants, heats of vaporization, and entropies of vaporization were derived from the vaporpressure data. The magnetic moments were measured over the temperature range 100 to 300 deg K.
