ROTATIONAL ANALYSIS OF THE BLUE-GREEN AND ORANGE SYSTEMS OF SCANDIUM OXIDE

Journal Article · · Arkiv Fysik
OSTI ID:4772166
A study is made of the rotational structure in the orange and blue-green regions of the spectrum of scandium oxide. The bands analyzed are the 0,0 band of the forbidden transition A /sup 2/II-X /sup 4/ SIGMA / and the 0,0, 1,0, 2,1, and 0,1 bands of the forbidden transition B /sup 2/ SIGMA --X /sup 4/ SIGMA . The splitting of the X /sup 4/ SS term is small. The spin splitting of the B / sup 2/ SIGMA state is unusually large. In the A /sup 2/II/sub 3/2/, state a small perturbation is found. (auth)
