Work is reported on the preparation and chemistry of organic Ce and Fe compounds which are possible intermediates in the stabtlization of silicone liquids against oxidation and gelation. The compounds are basic ceric toluate, ceric toluate, cerous toluate, basic ceric dinonylnaphthalenesulfonate, ceric isopropoxide solvate, bis(N,N' disalicylalpropylenediamine)cerium(IV), basic ferric toluate, N,N' -disalicylalpropylenediamine ferritoluate, and bis(N,N' - disalicylalpropylenediamine) ferrioxide.
