POSSIBLE Zr-Hf FRACTION BETWEEN EARTH AND METEORITES

Discussion is given on the fractionation of Zr--Hf between common terrestrial rocks and meteorites. Data on Hf and Zr in chondrites and zircons from basic rocks are tabuiated as Zr/Hf ratios, Although firm conclusions about the Zr-- Hf coherence cannot be made until additional data are obtained, it is concluded that radioactive processes have not significantly altered the Zr/Hf ratio.
