SEPARATION OF THE ISOMERS OF Te 127 AND 129 BY PAPER ELECTROPHORESIS (in French)

Journal Article · · J. Chromatog.
A carrier-free solution of sodium tellurite is oxidized into sodium tellurate, and the system is allowed to come to radioactive equilibrium. The decay of the metastable states of Te/sup 127/ and Te/sup 129/ causes the Te to undergo a transition to the tellurite form. At a pH of 3, for example, 28 and 35% of the Te/sup 127/ and Te/sup 129/ respectively are transformed into the tellurite form under the experimental conditions used. Paper electrophoresis is used to separate the tellurite and tellurate components. The half lives of the metastable and ground-state isomers are outlined. The separation efficiency is discussed.
