The conditions for temporary capture of charged particles, injected in a magnetic mirror configuration, are studied experimentally with an electron model. From the measured vector potential of the magnetic field, boundarysurfaces (Stormer equipotential surfaces) correspondirg to special conditions for injection, are deduced. The trajectories of the injected electrons were measured with probes. Photographs are shown of trajectories with multiple passage through the axis or near the axis. Ranges for the injection parameters for which temporary capture was observed were given. (auth)
