THE 800-kv CASCADE GENERATOR AND PARTICLE ACCELERATOR OF THE INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR RESEARCH (in Hungarian)

The cascade tyne particle accelerator of 800-kv rated voltage built at the Institute of Nuclear Rssearch is described. For producing high voltage a selenoid rectifier was applied, whereas for the beaded supports of the accelerator Ganz-pabit'' was chosen. The inhomogenous accelerating tube of 4 steps is placed in a porcelain insulator. The ion source is of the radiofrequency type and yields about 1 ma ion current at the maximum. Some of the construction principles are also described. An account is given of the vacuum system of the accelerator and of the most impontant measuring and control units as well. (auth)
