A grease is described for applications requiring stability in the presence of 10/sup 4/ to 10/sup 10/ r of high-energy ionizing radiations, particularly slow neutrons. The grease comprises a lubricant base fluid thickened to grease consistency with a ureido compound of the formula RNHCONHR'NHCONHR'', where R and R'' are abietyl radicals and R' is an alkylene radical or an arylene radical. The ureido compound can be prepared by heating a mixture of an abietyl amine and a polyisocyanate. Lubricants which may be thickened in this way include silicone polymers, mineral oils, hydrocarbons, fluorinated compounds, etc. (D. L.C.)
