Organization of the program is described along with the events associated with its inception. A joint agreement between AEC and DOD provides for radiological emergency activities through a coordinating center at Albuquerque, N. M., where teams are available for assistance at radiation incident areas. Operation of the assistance program is described and examples of incidents are given. (J.R.D.)
