Experimental reactor physics began at Bradwell in August 1961, with the start of fuel loading on number 1 reactor. Experiences gained during the designing, planning, and execution of a suitable program are related. The program consisted mainly of making measurements during fuel loading and calibrating selected control rod and absorber patterns. The operations involved in setting the channel coolant flow restrictors were very much dependent on the results of the physics program. (W.D.M.)
