The fuel loading rate of the Hinkley Point reactor is about 3 channels (24 elements) per day per reactor. A description is given of the automatic and semiautomatic fuel handling machinery, the control systems used in conjunction with this machinery, and the facilities provided (storage areas, transport devices, bottling and definning apparatus, etc.) in the handling system.
