MICROWAVE SPECTRUM OF ACETONITRILE-d$sub 3$, CD$sub 3$CN

Journal Article · · J. Mol. Spectry
Microwave spectrum for the J = 2 yields 1 transition of the CD/sub 3/ CN molecule was investigated. The molecular structure was determined from the observed spectra of CD/sub 3/CN, C/sub 13/D/sub 3/CN, CD/sub 3/C/sup 13/N, and CD/ sub 3/CN/sup 15/. A number of s pectral lines of the molecule in the excited vibrational states, nu /sub s/, 2 nu /sub s/, 3 nu /sub s/, 4 nu /sub s/, 5 nu / sub s/, nu /sub 7/, nu /sub 6/, nu / sub 4/, and nu /sub 3/, were measured and analyzed. The observed l-type doublings and the splittings in highly excited states were well interpreted by the theory. An anomaly in the Stark pattern of the nu /sub 7/ excited lines was noticed and explained by the accidental near degeneracy of the nu /sub 4/ and nu /sub 7/ vibrations. (auth)
