ON THE PIPE-PINCH STABILITY (in Russian)

Studies were made of cylindrical pinch stability in a Triex system in which a plasma cylinder is distributed between a co-axial internal currerit carrier (radius C) and a conducting jacket (radius R). The study was carried out on the basis of ideal magnetohydrodynamics equations for incompressible fluid. Dispersion equations were developed for arbitrarily distributed fields with low initial discharge current. Stability criteria were found for various field distributions. (tr-auth)
