WIGNER COEFFICIENTS FOR THE SU$sub 3$ GROUP AND SOME APPLICATIONS

A class of Wigner coefficients for the three-dimensional unitary unimodular group (SU/sub 3/) is determined. The representations of the unitary group in three dimensions U/sub 3/ are characterized by a partition (h/sub 1/h/ sub 2/h/sub 3/!. The representations of the SU/sub 3/ group are characterized by the differences STAh/sub 1/--h/sub 3/, h/sub 2/-h/sub 3/! of these numbers. The Wigner coefficient s are those associated with the Clebsch-Gordan development of the Kronecker product of two irreducible representations. (W.D. M.)
