ON GEOMAGNETIC FLUCTUATIONS IN REGIONS REMOTE FROM HIGH-ALTITUDE NUCLEAR BURTS

Journal Article · · Journal of Geophysical Research (U.S.)
A suggestion that betas from decay of neutrons produced in high-altitude nuclear blasts can cause artificial geomagnetic solar flare effects in regions thousands of kilometers from the blast is made. An approximate expression for such a geomagnetic fluctuation is given. (D.C.W.)
