Dispersion-strengthened Ni--thoria alloys have been prepared by thermal decomposition of thorium nitrate on 2-5- mu Ni powder. The resultant alloys were evaluated in roomtemperature tensile tests, in creep-rupture tests at 815, 982, and 1093 deg C, and, for thermal stability, by annealing tests (1 hr) up to 1350 deg C. Relatively uniform structures were produced, which gave superior high- temperature properties and structural stability to at least 1350 deg C.
