NEW NEUTRON-DEFICIENT BARIUM ISOTOPES

Journal Article · · Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry (England) Merged with Inorg. Nucl. Chem. Lett. to form Polyhedron
New barium activities, produced by heavy ion bombardments of indium and tin, were assigned on the basis of chemistry and their decay to cesium daughters. The are: Ba/sup 123/, 2 plus or minus 0.5 min; Ba/sup 125/, 8.5 plus or minus 0.5 min; and Ba/sup 127/, 10.0 PP 0.5 min. In addition the following haif lives were proposed for previously assigned nuclides: Ba/sup 126/, 103 plus or minus 5.0 min; Cs/sup 123/, 8.0 plus or minus 0.5 min; Cs/sup 125/, 49 plus or minus 5.0 min; and Xe/sup 123/, 18 5 plus or minus 0.1 hr.
