A method for generating superheated vapor in a nuclear power plant is described. The method includes supplying feed liquid to a forced-flow, once- through vapor generating and superheating unlt, circulating coolant in a closed circuit through the reactor and unit, controlling the heat output of the reactor to give a constant coolant temperature at the reactor outlet, and limiting movement of the transition zone. A plant for carrying out the method is described. (D.L.C.)
