Ferromagnetism and Antiferromagnetism in Non-Ferrous Metals and Alloys

The theory and nature of magnetism in elements are discussed briefly. A literature review is presented of the work published in 1951 to 1961 on antiferromagnetism and ferromagnetism in elements other than Ni, Co, and Fe, and in their alloys and intermetallic compounds. The review covers the elements in a sequence based on the Periodic Table: first transition series, Pt- and Pd-group metals, rare-earth metals, and actinides. (D.L.C.)
