A dispersive formulation of the levinson theorem
The statement of the Levinson theorem on the relation between the scattering phase-shifts and the number of bound states is transferred in a dispersive language through a relation involving the unphysical discontinuity of the scattering amplitude, the residue of the bound state, and the binding energy. It is shown that the relation obtained are necessary and sufficient condition for the validity of the Levinson theorem. An example to illustrate this relation is give-n. (auth)
