LOGARITHMIC CONVERTER AND INTEGRATOR

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4755487

A logarithmic converter and integrator circuit, which is used in an ultraviolet flying spot microscope, measures in two seconds a complete 200-line field. Each of the 5 diodes in the circuit has a logarithmic response. The video current is supplied to the log diode from a 50 K resistor fed by a voltage source. The log signal is amplifled and then clipped below an arbitrary level to leave only the range of interest. This signai is again amplified and drives a resistor which behaves as a current generator to charge up the integrating capacitor. (M.C.G.)
