Ascitic fluid was pooled from 3 mice with Ehrlich ascitic tumors and divided into 3 portions. One portion was incubated with Na/sub 2/Cr/sup 51/O/sub 4/, the second portion was incubated with saline, and the third portion was stored. All samples were adjusted to the same cell concentration and inoculated into test mice. All mice showed similarity of weight gain due to ascites. Serial replicate passage from each mouse produced vigorous growth through 8 transplant generations. It is concluded that Na/sub 2/Cr/sup 51/O/sub 4/ has no effect on the viability of Ehrlich ascites tumor cells even at high concentrations. (C.H.)
