THE MOMENTUM SPECTRUM OF COSMIC RAY MUONS AT A ZENITH ANGLE OF 80

Journal Article · · J. Phys. Soc. Japan
OSTI ID:4754006
S>Cosmic-ray muons were detected by an apparatus accepting particles with zenith angles between 81 deg 48' and 78 deg 28'. The observed rates of events were converted into an approximate differential niomentum spectrum and the points were plotted. In comparison with the vertical spectrum previously measured, the reduction in flux of lowenergy muons at the large zenith angle is marked. Agreement with the calculated spectrum is good. (A.G.W.)
