The investigation of over 300 compounds during the past six years indicates that a catalyzed exchange reaction is the preferable method for labeling a large number of organic compounds, particularly aromatics, with tritium. The reaction involves a tritium-hydrogen exchange between the orgaric compound and tritium oxide in the presence of a transition-metal catelyst. (R.J.S.)
