SPINOR FIELDS IN GENERALLY COVARIANT THEORIES

Classical field theory was investigated. The Lagrangian was a function of one or several spinor fields, of an affine connection, of their complex conjugates, and of a Hermitian metric spinor. No restriction was put on the functional form of the Lagrangian, except for the usual requirements of reality and of invariance under coordinate or spin transformations. The Lagrangian was also treated in the absence of spinor fields. The field equations then went over to the Maxwell-Einstein equations. The neutrino field was introduced and the affine connection was shown to be no longer Riemannian. The non-Riemannian part of the connection was related to the neutrino current. The gravitational field of the Dirac particles was approached by a straightforward generalization of the results for the neutrino field. The theory was generalized so as to include scale transformations. (C.E.S.)
