DEPENDENCE OF THE TUMOR DEVELOPMENT IN RATS AFTER INTRAVENOUS INJECTION OF YOSHIDA-ASCITES SARCOMA ON PRELIMINARY WHOLE-BODY X IRRADIATION (in German)

Wistar rats were exposed to whole-body x irridiation doses from 10 to 840 r, and 24 hrs. later were injected with Yoshida-Ascites sircoma. The results are tabulated and show that whole body irradiation up to 80 r affects the tumor development only slightly, but higher doses increase the initiation rate. It was also shown that irradiation doses of more than 150 r significantly increase the number of liver tumors. (J.S.R.)
