FILM CAPABILITIES FOR HIGH LEVEL DOSE EVALUATION

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4749401

An investigation was conducted to determine the highlevel dose measuring capabilities of the duPont 558 film packet containing 508-sensitive and 1290- insensitive film emulsions. The accuracy of the film processing system was also evaluated. It was found that for statistically sound high-level dose determinations, the characteristic response curves of 1290 film limits the sensitivity of the beta-gamma film badge dosimeter to an upper limit of about 1500 r. A summary of density and spectrographic measurements on these film emulsions was included. (J.R.D.)
