Solutions of sodium o-iodohippurate-I/sup 131/ (Hippuran) are widely used as a radioisotopic diagnostic agent in kidney function studies. Studies were made on the stability of the radioactive material under various conditions of pH, salt concentration, and time. Results indicate that the stability of Hippuran solutions decreases as the initial specific activity of the product is increased. (C.H.)
